Novità a teatro
La produzione teatrale di Edimburgo è nota e acclamata nel mondo anche grazie all’ Edinburgh Fringe Festival che promuove tutte le arti e attira visitatori da ogni angolo del globo. Altri festival attragono visitatori verso i molti teatri e compagnie di giro nei dintorni di Edimburgo.
Il Royal Lyceum Theatre è poco lontano dalla pulsante Lothian Road e ha spettacoli che spaziano da Shakespeare ai più recenti autori scozzesi. Il King's Theatre con il suo soffitto a cupola e le sue sedie di velluto rosso è la sede perfetta per le produzioni teatrali drammatiche. Il nuovo teatro sperimentale della Scozia, il Traverse Theatre, rappresenta nuove e originali opere.
